The Iloilo Science and Technology Dumangas Campus celebrated its 53rd Founding Anniversary on April 25-28, 2023.
This year’s focus is on a theme, Transitions and Transformation: Strengthening Programs through Innovation and Gender Inclusiveness.
Day 1 started with a Caravan joined by Faculty, Staff, Students, Parents, Alumni, and University Officials. It was followed by the Holy Mass and the Blessing of the new Basketball Court and the Office of the Campus Administrator; the Opening of Hinampang and Mass Dance Competition was also conducted thereafter. In the afternoon of that same day, Opening Program was held to open the University Foundation Week 2023 officially. Along with its opening was the Open House Exhibit of the different programs. On that same day, Testimonial Dinner and Fellowship Night was conducted to give tribute and awards to the awardees and retirees. Then, it was followed by the Faculty and Employees Association (FEA) Night sponsored by the FEA of this university.
Day 2 opened the Career Fair intended to guide the audience especially the invited Senior High School Students of Dumangas and the nearby municipalities on the right career path for them. It was then followed by the Academic and Skills Contests that were joined by the SHS guests and First Year students of the five programs of ISAT U DC. In the afternoon of the same day, the students competed in the different events in the Cultural Contest. The event was followed by Basketball Men among Faculty and Staff and played between Team Eric and Team Asan.
Day 3 was Sports Competitions for Playoffs and Final Games among student participants. Pre-pageant for Search for Mr. and Ms. ISAT University-Dumangas Campus 2023. The event piloted the School Uniform Attire, Talent, and Mini Fashion Show. In addition to this, the Mixed Volleyball of Faculty and Staff between Team Eric and Team Asan was also initiated.
Day 4 held the Students’ Day. It started with a Color Fun Run at 5:00 AM. Simultaneously at 8:00 AM was the celebration of Fun and Games of the students and Bloodletting Activity sponsored by the Medical-and Dental Unit of the university. Later in the afternoon of the same day was the Final Show of the Search for Mr. and Ms. ISAT U Dumangas Campus 2023 and followed by the Student Night and Socialization intended for the students.
This four-day fun-filled, educational, and humanitarian activity was a way to showcase and commemorate the Golden and three years of existence of the university. The now ISAT University-Dumangas Campus started in 1970 with name Lublub Barrio High School, then later evolved into names Lublub Barangay High School, Lublub National High School, P.D. Monfort National School, P.D. Monfort College-WVCST Branch, Western Visayas College of Science and Technology-Dumangas Campus, and eventually, Iloilo Science and Technology University-Dumangas Campus in 2015 up to present.
