Iloilo Science and Technology University-Dumangas Campus community joined in a mob dance to answer the call in honoring One Billion Rising on February 14, 2023.
Faculty, staff, parents, alumni and students united as one during the event to call for action to end violence against women.
One Billion Rising is the biggest mass action to end violence against women in the history and it started in 2013.
This cause was based on the fact that 1 from every 3 women on this planet will be beaten or raped in her lifetime. Having eight billion populations in this world, these victims can add up to more than one billion women and girls.
On its 10th year, the call is focused on Rise for Freedom from patriarchy and from all its progeny, capitalism, impunity, poverty, oppression, division, exploitation, shame, control, individualism, greed, violence…; and Create New Culture where collectively share in the commitment to End violence towards women, gender nonconforming and gender expansive people…
